Trauma and PTSD
Trauma and PTSD can develop when someone goes through experiences that overwhelm their ability to cope, leaving emotional, psychological, and even physical impacts that linger long after the event. Symptoms might include anxiety, flashbacks, emotional numbness, or a feeling of disconnection from yourself or others. In my work, I approach trauma with warmth, compassion, and evidence-based care. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and supported as we gently explore and process painful memories. Using approaches like talk therapy, parts work, or techniques from EMDR, I support you in reconnecting with yourself, building resilience, and restoring a sense of inner balance at your own pace.

Complex Trauma
Complex trauma—sometimes called emotional trauma—often stems from repeated or ongoing experiences that made you feel unsafe, unseen, or unworthy, especially in childhood or close relationships. Unlike a single traumatic event, complex trauma can quietly shape how you see yourself and the world, leading to patterns of self-doubt, people-pleasing, or feeling chronically “on edge." In therapy, I offer a compassionate space to gently explore these layers. Together, we work to understand and validate the parts of you that had to adapt to survive. Through inner child work, parts work, and grounding practices, we begin to restore a sense of safety, connection, and self-trust from the inside out.

Anxiety
Anxiety often shows up as racing thoughts, a sense of dread, or physical tension that seems to come out of nowhere. It can be overwhelming and convincing—making you believe something is wrong, even when you're safe. In our work together, I help you build awareness of these thought patterns and how they can distort your perception, feeding fear and self-doubt. Through grounding exercises, mindfulness, and gentle curiosity, we slow things down and create space between you and the anxious thoughts. This allows you to reconnect with your body, anchor into the present moment, and begin to trust your inner calm and clarity again, so you can breathe easy!

With a wide range of experience working with a diverse clientele in terms of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic conditions, I am committed to creating a therapeutic space in which you feel heard, valued, and understood as an individual. I understand that these facets of our identity shape our lived experience and often impact how trauma is experienced as well as access to opportunities for healing.
